About Me

Hi. I'm David. I am a wedding officiant licensed to solemnize marriages in the province of Ontario. I have had the honor and privilege to unite hundreds of couples in matrimony across Central Ontario since 2007.


My passion is to help you celebrate your love through a beautiful ceremony that is uniquely yours. I work closely with you to create a wedding day full of love, joy, and even laughter when the time is right.


Over the years, I have built wonderful working relationship with the best wedding professionals in the GTA, and I am confident that we can make your special day magical. Whether you dream of an intimate ceremony in the park, a grandiose wedding in an incredible venue, or want help planning the perfect destination ceremony, Weddings By David is here for you. Officiate Weddings

I work with you to to create a beautiful wedding ceremony as unique as you are, that you, your family, and friends will cherish. During your big day, I ease the stress and calm the nerves so you can enjoy the experience.

Legal Signings

Licensed in Ontario to solemnize marriages, I work cross-culturally - celebrating with couples from various faith traditions, ensuring that their marriages follow the Province of Ontario guidelines for registration.

Life Celebrations

I assist couples celebrate milestones in their relationship, officiating vow renewals and other life celebrations.

The All-Inclusive Experience

From $700.00

The All-Inclusive Experience is perfect for couples who want a personal and unique ceremony entirely designed for you. I will listen to you to hear your story and incorporate that into your ceremony. Your ceremony will reflect your personality and will resonate with your guests.


My overall goal is to reduce the stress of your wedding day. Your wedding ceremony will be more than just the quick path to the party. It will be the foundation of your day of celebration. I will be with you from the very beginning of the planning process to ensure that your ceremony experience is something that you treasure. I will collaborate with others on your wedding team to ensure everything is seamless. I will attend and conduct the rehearsal to ensure everything runs perfectly on your wedding day.

This package includes.


A consultation at no charge to ensure that we like each other.


Consultations as needed throughout the ceremony planning process.


A custom written ceremony including unlimited edits, that you will have approved. No surprises on your wedding day


Attendance and leadership at your wedding rehearsal. If you have a wedding planner, I will work in harmony with them to ensure a great outcome.


Connect with your DJ, and photographer upon arrival to review the ceremony.


Conduct a 20-to-30-minute ceremony that you and your guests will remember for years to come. 


Send the marriage license to the Registrar General of Ontario for registration. Legal is always good.

I Just Want to Get Married

From $500.00

For couples who want a meaningful ceremony experience without all the customizable elements, I recommend "I Just Want To Get Married." After we connect, I create a personal ceremony that you and your guests will love. You have an opportunity to approve the final draft and include personal vows and readings. A rehearsal is not included, but we can add one to help put you at ease.

This package includes.

A complimentary consultation to make sure we like each other.

A beautiful ceremony about 20 minutes in length.

Peace of mind, knowing exactly what I will be saying. 

Connect with your DJ, and photographer upon arrival to review the ceremony.

Facilitation of your ceremony with unlimited guests.


Send the marriage license to the Registrar General of Ontario for registration. Legal is always good.

Simple and Elegant

From $350.00

Simple and Elegant is ideal for a small-scale celebration of up to 10 people. Perhaps a backyard, living room, or a park is your chosen destination. After an initial conversation, I create a short and meaningful celebration centered around you and your love for each other. 


A simple ceremony is also a great way to kick off or conclude a destination wedding. Getting ‘Officially” married before you go ensures that there are no worries with the legalities of the wedding at your chosen destination. A personalized ceremony that you can take with you can also be created for an extra charge.

This package includes.

A consultation at no charge to ensure compatibility. 

An intimate 5 to 10 minute ceremony that celebrates your love for each other.


Preparation and filing of the marriage license with the Registrar General of Ontario following the ceremony.

Supporting Your Chosen Officiant

From $475.00

Perhaps you have a family member, friend, or someone in mind that you want to officiate your wedding ceremony. That is wonderful. Although this person may be a great public speaker weddings have a lot of moving parts. I can coach your chosen officiant and set them up for success using my 15 years of experience to ensure a beautiful and memorable ceremony for you and your guests. 


If you choose to hold a wedding rehearsal, I will attend to coach your chosen officiant in all the nuances of a ceremony to reduce everybody’s stress and calm nerves on the big day. Most importantly, I will attend the ceremony and oversee the signing of the marriage license. Legal is good.

This package includes.

A consultation with you and your chosen officiant. 

Collaboration in the creation of a meaningful wedding ceremony that you and your guests will cherish.

My availability throughout the process to consult and encourage.

Attendance at the wedding celebration and overseeing the signing portion of the ceremony.

Attend and support the wedding rehearsal as needed.

    I am licensed by the Province of Ontario to Solemnize marriages (#60064).

  • What do you wear when officiating a wedding?

    As a non-denominational officiant, I wear a dark suit when officiating a wedding. 

  • What separates you from other wedding officiants?

    I have been uniting couples since 2007 and go above and beyond to create a personalized experience filled with joy, love, and laughter to calm those nerves when necessary. 

    Your wedding ceremony will be as unique as you are. I take the time to truly get to know you both and create an intimate experience that will be the highlight of your special day.

    I can bring humor into the event, whether to ease nerves and break the ice or as part of the ceremony when requested. It's your day and I am there to make it magical. 

  • What is your philosophy when officiating a wedding?

    Officiating a wedding is an honor and privilege. You are inviting me to witness and officiate a very intimate occasion. As such, I attend to every detail with tenderness and care, learning about you, your needs, and your vision, and do everything I can to make it a reality. You are the focus for the day, I am there to guide, step back, and share your joy. 

  • How long are your ceremonies?

    My ceremonies are as long or as brief as you want them to be, ranging from a few moments to sign your marital documents to a 30-minute to 2-hour-long ceremony customized for you. 

  • Are your ceremonies boring?

    I work with you to create an engaging ceremony that reflects your personality. Many of the couples and guests shared that the ceremony was the highlight of the day. 

  • How many weddings do you do in a day?

    I strive to devote 100 percent of my energy to each of my couples. Typically I only do one wedding in a day. There are times when I may do more than one. An example would be one ceremony in the morning and another one late in the afternoon. That is the exception however not the norm.

  • Will I receive personal attention or am I just another couple?

    Every wedding is unique and special. I do everything in my power to create a customized ceremony that makes you feel special. This is your special day. 

    I am attentive to your needs and cognizant of my presence, stepping back and away when pictures are being taken, setting the stage for perfect photos and video opportunities. 

    My goal is to make your ceremony go smoothly and ensure it is exactly what you envisioned. 

  • How far from Toronto do you travel?

    I travel all over Central Ontario from the Hamilton area to Peterborough and up past Barrie along the Georgian Bay. Depending on the distance, I may add a fee for my time and fuel. We can discuss that.
